Needing some more great art in your life?
The MoMA in NYC is currently offering tons of exciting exhibits, suited for every art lover out there!
Printin’ compiles the works of over 50 different artists, beginning with those by Ellen Galagher, “that challenged traditional ideas of what a print could be” (MoMA.org).
This exhibit offers works spanning across a variety of mediums (including some extremely unorthodox tools like platstic ice cubes) and touches on a wide array of subject matter including “portraiture, identity, history, advertising, commodity, and the disruption, translation, and recasting of space” (MoMA.org).
These works range from the 17th century to present day. Learn more here
If “Printin'” isn’t for you, the MoMA is also still showing the ever-so-popular Cindy Sherman Exhibit through June 11
Her work has progressed through the use of film, portraying women in an array of different roles, portraiture and fashion and at times has even been considered pornographic
“Widely recognized as one of the most important and influential artists in contemporary art” (MoMA.org).
This MoMA exhibit “traces the artist’s career from the mid 1970s to the present” and has become increasingly popular since it’s debut at the museum.
