Jenn Liddiard is a wonderfully talented jewelry designer and owner of Joyo based out of Scituate, MA. We are so excited that she will be showcasing her sophisticated, one of a kind designs at the Garden City Art Festival in Cranston, RI on June 8th and 9th!
We are happy to share a little about Jenn’s interesting process in her own words, and invite you to take a peak at some of her exquisite work…
“I work at the intersection of art and technology making laser cut wood jewelry. I love taking a natural material like wood, and transforming it into a unique, intricate, unexpected form.”
“I get inspiration from museums, architecture, sidewalk patterns, history, far off places, and the natural world. Hopefully Festival Fete’s Garden City Art Festival visitors can find something in my work that inspires them, too.”
“Previously, I made wirework and gemstone jewelry for many years and also did freelance graphic design. After learning about laser technology, I realized the potential for combining my jewelry making with my design aesthetic, and Joyo was born in the summer of 2012.”
“Quality materials and being environmentally friendly are also an integral part of Joyo. For example: the ultrasuede I use to line the cuff bracelets is made with 100% recycled plastic (but feels incredibly soft and luxurious). My packaging boxes are all uncoated and no chemicals are used to bleach them white. The fiber for these boxes comes from SFI (Sustainable Forestry Initiative) lumber – lumber collected and reforested utilizing environmentally friendly practices. Additionally, all paper materials are printed on 80% post-consumer recycled paper using soy-based inks.”
Aren’t these pieces a stunning example of fine craftsmanship? Please join us in welcoming Jenn to her first Festival Fete show!
Many thanks to our new Garden City Art Festival sponsor!
