ART in RI this weekend

11 Oct

Sunny, cool weather is ahead for the weekend so in between the apple picking and cider mulling,  you can take in some art in some lovely places.

One great place to start is tonight in Newport for Gallery Night Newport, from 5-8:00 pm. There are only two more Newport gallery nights left for 2012, and this is a beautiful time of year to stroll the historic streets of Newport. Connect with the Newport Galleries on Facebook to learn more about the participating galleries, and check out these luscious glass pumpkins and gourds by Thames Glass at 688 Thames Street, Newport, RI.

Next up, is the HopArts Studio Trail in Richmond and Hopkinton on 10/13 & 10/14. This annual event is an open studio tour “that not only boosts public awareness about the artists in our midst, but has also created lasting bonds in the local arts community”. There is a great full-page article written by Bob Curley about this local event in the October issue of SO Rhode Island. To read the article online, Click here

Festival Fete is happy to share the news about fun, local art happenings on our blog and welcomes any tips and comments from our readers. So if you go to an event and would like to share your experience, please feel free to comment on our blog or email danielle@festivalfete.com.

Have a great weekend!

Save the date! Festival Fete’s Holiday Market is on December 1st and 2nd, 2012. Unfortunately, Folk Couture will not be able to participate in the Festival Fete Holiday Market this year, as mentioned in our previous blog post. However, we look forward to having Folk Couture at future shows. Stay tuned for more “Featured Artist” blog posts about some of the wonderful artisans that you will see at the Holiday Market!
