Ice Cream? Froyo? Vegan or non-dairy – we all love a frozen treat!

16 Aug

yogurt_pbj_img1-v02Who doesn’t love a frozen treat in the summertime…or really any time of year? I have some friends that will actually make a meal out of big bowl of frozen yogurt with all the fancy toppings. It’s funny how things come and go – whatever happened to the frozen yogurt craze a few decades ago (remember TCBY)? It was long gone and now it’s back- BIG TIME! Probably thanks to all of the new healthy options and the popularity of Greek yogurt. All I can say is that frozen yogurt has come a long way from the 80’s baby.

Pinkberry-HeroPinkberry is one of our favorites, and not only is this “Handcrafted Yogurt Bar” a hip, cool place serving healthy, yummy frozen yogurt, but they are wonderful supporters of Festival Fete’s non-profit, Art is Smart. They held a fundraising day for us during the Garden City Art Festival in June and said it was their best fundraiser of the year! That translates into dollars for local public school art teachers to get the art supplies that they need!  And we have you and Pinkberry to thank for that!

Art is Smart

The great news is that Pinkberry will once again be hosting a fundraiser day on Sunday, September 1st (day 2 of the East Greenwich Art Festival) for Art is Smart. You can visit either location at the Warwick Mall or in Garden City, mention Festival Fete or Art is Smart and they will donate 20% of your purchase to Art is Smart!

Krinsky2Meanwhile, if the weather is as warm and sunny at the East Greenwich Art Festival as it was last year, you may need something cool right away. Fortunately, you’ll have two choices: Like No Udder is a Vegan, non-dairy Soft Serve truck, and Holy Cow, a Heavenly Experience which is the more traditional ice cream shop. You’ll find plenty of food vendors at the East Greenwich Art Festival to choose from so come early and come hungry!
